Built by people who run networks
OgmaProtect is made by Wireless Connect Ltd. — a Dublin-based network engineering company. We design, deploy and operate networks for a living. This is the firewall platform we always wanted to hand our own customers.
Why OpenBSD
OpenBSD brings the PF firewall and a network stack that includes CARP, pfsync, Unbound and WireGuard. These are the foundations OgmaProtect puts to work for your network.
OgmaProtect puts a small, disciplined management plane on top of it — and borrows the operating system's own habits, privilege separation, pledge and unveil, as the shape of the product rather than a layer underneath it. The security page shows what that looks like.
The name and the mark
Our shield represents a protective boundary. Its gold spine carries PROTECT in Ogham, read from the bottom up. Forest green connects the identity to its Irish roots.
The inscription is a modern letter-by-letter transcription of the English word, using supplementary Peith for P. It is not an ancient Irish translation. The complete seven-letter inscription stays together in every version of the mark.
Principles
- Your router is yours. Firewall enforcement stays local. The optional threat feed and update check connect to our services only when enabled; firewall hit records are not reported back to the feed service.
- Fail closed. When something is wrong, the safe state wins — the product refuses configurations that would lock you out and reverts changes you cannot confirm.
- Verify, then trust. Releases are signed offline and verify against a published key, and the audit trail can be checked off the box. The source code is not published; requests for access are considered case by case, and granted only with the approval of our directors and under a signed non-disclosure agreement.
- Clear product information. Published release information, security advisories and an evidence-backed roadmap help you assess the product.
- Clear licensing. The full software is free for qualifying small businesses, with commercial licensing beyond those limits. Check eligibility and terms.
